Expand the Menu is a fundraiser event series run by the non-profit Jikoni Recipe Archive, with a mission of treasuring and amplifying the new school recipes of African and Black cuisine.
ABOUT THE CHEF
Kiano Moju, founder of the Jikoni Recipe Archive, is a champion of African and African-diaspora cuisine. Born Kenyan-Nigerian, she grew up in the melting pot of California, and has woven a culinary tapestry of her own from culinary identities across the globe.
As a former video producer for Buzzfeed's food video vertical, Tasty, she's cooked for the Food Network, Tastemade, and the USDA, and now brings her passion into her cooking classes. Learn to recreate the vibrant flavors of Kiano's upbringing, from her Maasai family recipes to her modern twists on traditional favorites. It's more than a cooking class; it's a cultural immersion where community and food collide.
